Rebellious and uninhabited Reshma lives an impoverished lifestyle with her mother, Ratnamma, in 1980s South India. She is an ardent fan of film actor, Suryakant, and her one ambition in life is to meet and act with him. She runs away to Madras, and like, hundreds of young women, lines up outside Jupiter Studios to try and get noticed. With her plain, next-door-girl looks, she gets ignored but as fate could have it she is given a chance to play a minor role after she manages to sneak into the studios. The role exploits her as a sex symbol, driving males to the cinema houses to absorb her movements and beauty. Virtually overnight she, now renamed Silk, becomes a sensation, and together with the aging superstar, Suryakant, the one she had always fantasized about, she sizzles the silver screen with her sex appeal. Suryakant’s brother, Ramakant, an author, is smitten by her – so much so that he would like her to opt out of movies altogether…

A humble and simple Takezo abandons his life as a knight errant. He’s sought as a teacher and vassal by Shogun, Japan’s most powerful clan leader. He’s also challenged to fight by the supremely confident and skillful Sasaki Kojiro. Takezo agrees to fight Kojiro in a year’s time but rejects Shogun’s patronage, choosing instead to live on the edge of a village, raising vegetables. He’s followed there by Otsu and later by Akemi, both in love with him. The year ends as Takezo assists the villagers against a band of brigands. He seeks Otsu’s forgiveness and accepts her love, then sets off across the water to Ganryu Island for his final contest.

After years on the road establishing his reputation as Japan’s greatest fencer, Takezo returns to Kyoto. Otsu waits for him, yet he has come not for her but to challenge the leader of the region’s finest school of fencing. To prove his valor and skill, he walks deliberately into ambushes set up by the school’s followers. While Otsu waits, Akemi also seeks him, expressing her desires directly. Meanwhile, Takezo is observed by Sasaki Kojiro, a brilliant young fighter, confident he can dethrone Takezo. After leaving Kyoto in triumph, Takezo declares his love for Otsu, but in a way that dishonors her and shames him. Once again, he leaves alone.

With his closest friend, Matahachi, Takezo (the town’s wild, orphan kid) leaves his village to join an army on its way to battle. After their side loses, they seek shelter in the isolated home of a widow, Oko, and her daughter, Akemi. Oko seduces Matahachi, who forgets his betrothal to the virtuous Otsu. Oko, Matahachi, and Akemi go to Kyoto, but Takezo returns to the village. Matahachi’s family rejects Takezo’s report and has him arrested for treason. A monk rescues him from death and sentences him to the study of the samurai code. Otsu and Takezo fall in love, and she promises to wait for him when he sets off on the road as a knight errant.

Based in Anandpur, Andhra Pradesh, Pratap Ravi, who lives with his expectant wife, Nandini, is fully engrossed in avenging the brutal death of his father, Veera Bhadra and brother, Shankar. He is now invited by actor-turned-politician, Shivaji Rao, to join politics and end the bloodshed. Pratap does so, but must face off against a vengeful male, Surya, who blames him for the death of his family in a TV bomb blast. Pratap not only manages to elude Surya, but through DCP Mohan Prasad, has him arrested and sent to prison. Ready to contest elections, he is faced with another adversary – Surya’s wife, Bhavani. He decides to kill her but is prevented by his very own wife. With Bhavani’s increasing popularity, and Surya joining forces with opposition leader, Krishna Swamy, Pratap finds his life in danger and decides to organize a meeting of all political leaders in the region – a decision that may well change his and everyone’s lives.

This movie portrays the drug scene in Berlin in the 70s, following tape recordings of Christiane F. 14 years old Christiane lives with her mother and little sister in a typical multi-storey apartment building in Berlin. She’s fascinated by the ‘Sound’, a new disco with most modern equipment. Although she’s legally too young, she asks a friend to take her. There she meets Detlef, who’s in a clique where everybody’s on drugs. Step by step she gets drawn deeper into the scene.
