Jul 8th
On a winter morning, a mother goes to waken her son Heinrich; his bed is empty. She leaves her flat to find him. The neighbors’ door, with a Star of David painted on it, is ajar, the furnishings in disarray, the family gone. She asks passersby, runs to the police then on to the rail yard. Flashbacks show that Heinrich and the neighbors’ son Paul are six years old and best friends. Paul’s family’s deportation is expected soon; Heinrich’s mother tells her son that they’re going to Toyland. Heinrich wants to go with them, has a bag packed, and listens for their departure. His mother realizes he’s joined them, and her resolve becomes more urgent. Will she arrive in time to save Heinrich?
Roving Mars (2006)
Nov 12th
The feature tells the story of NASAs Mars Rover mission, which saw the construction of two incredibly complex robotic vehicles (The total technology involved in the rovers exceeds the brain capacity of any one person – best useless fact of the film) named Spirit and Opportunity and sent them to the surface of Mars, where they landed successfully in the summer of 2003. There is extensive footage of the surface of Mars, where both carefully accurate CGI and actual Rover footage, is used to give the viewer a nice visit to another world. Amazingly, the planned mission of 90 days has now gone on for over four years and continues to this day. They dont tell you that in the film. I became curious and looked it up for you guys.

The Wrong Trousers (1993)
Nov 12th
Plasticine animation of the loveable duo of Wallace and Gromit; inventors of all manner of useful devices. In this Oscar winning story, Gromit (a dog) finds himself being pushed out of his room and home by a new lodger who is actually a ruthless criminal (and a small penguin). The penguin is planning a robbery and needs to use Wallace and his mechanical remote controlled trousers to pull off the raid. However, Gromit is wise to the penguin and comes to the rescue. A must see for all ages.
April (1961)

The characters – a young man and a girl – are hiding in doorways, move into a new apartment, on the advice of a neighbor start to build up home and will soon come to that, that their relationship was cracking at the seams. Love can save only a radical solution. Viewers do not need to guess what it is. With sadness we note that in the house almost all apartments crammed with furniture. Only the musicians did not burden themselves with unnecessary things and thoughts, and here is another idea – creativity nourishes Love.
The end of the film touching and transparent. The heroes were able to revive the pouring out of the tap water, symbolizing the tenderness of their relationship. But from the dead tree in the final frame Love is a dead tree stump …?

One of the most vivid depictions of the horrors of Nazi Concentration Camps. Filmed in 1955 at several concentration camps in Poland, the film combines new color and black and white footage with black and white newsreels, footage shot by the victorious allies, and stills, to tell the story not only of the camps, but to portray the horror of man’s brutal inhumanity.
